Title I, Part A: Education for the Disadvantaged

Title I provides financial assistance through State Education Agencies (SEAs) to districts and public schools with high numbers or percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards.
Title I funds are intended to help close the achievement gap between high and low-performing students and increase achievement in academic subjects.
TIP: Title I activities/expenditures must serve the needs of students that are identified as failing, or most at risk of failing to meet state academic standards.

Title IV, Part A: Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants

The purpose of Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants is to improve students’ academic achievement by increasing the capacity of states, LEAs, schools, and local communities to provide all students with access to a well-rounded education; improve school conditions for student learning; and improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and
digital literacy of all students.
Per the funding guidance, an LEA may use Title IV, part A funds for activities in Well-Rounded Education, Safe and Healthy Schools, and Effective Use of Technology.

Title IV Part B: 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC)

21st CCLC supports centers that provide academic enrichment programs during non-school hours, especially those that target high-poverty families and students who attend low- performing schools. 21st CCLC programs or activities are required to collect effectiveness data to ensure that measures of student success align with the regular academic program of the school and the academic needs of participating students.

Programs also undergo a periodic evaluation to assess the program’s progress toward achieving the goal of providing high-quality opportunities for academic enrichment and overall student success.

Title V, Part B - Rural Education Achievement Program (REAP) Rural and Low Income (RLIS)

Funds are to provide rural districts with financial assistance for initiatives aimed at improving student achievement. LEAs that receive RLIS grants may use program funds to conduct activities under selected ESEA programs, for which Lightspeed Systems products and services are eligible expenditures.

Title I, Part A — Improving basic programs operated by local educational agencies, and activities for schools identified with the highest needs.

STOP School Violence Grants

ATTENTION: Applications due April 3, 2025!

The DOJ STOP School Violence grants provide funding to help K-12 schools implement evidence-based programs to prevent violence, including training for threat assessments, mental health support, and the development of anonymous reporting systems. These grants aim to enhance school safety by addressing early warning signs and fostering collaboration among educators, students, and law enforcement.

COPS Grants

The DOJ COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) grants support initiatives to enhance public safety by funding school resource officers, safety equipment, and training programs.
